Server Hardware We use industrial strength web server equipment for performance and reliability including Intel Pentium and Sun Sparc based systems. All servers have dual processors, dual 100Mbit Ethernet adapters, a minimum of 1 gigabyte of memory and a server grade mainboard and chipset. Storage is spread across multiple Ultra 160 SCSI hard disk drives using Adaptec RAID controllers. Operating System We operate on Windows based servers for maximum flexibility and dynamic web hosting. These Windows systems run the Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server operating system. Software The Windows systems benefit from the latest IIS 5 web server. Data Backup Every server on our network runs a RAID based disk redundancy solution, should any of the primary disk drives fail, a secondary disk drive can take over the work load with no loss of availability. In addition, servers are also backed up to a Storagetek Timberwolf DLT library. Server configuration Active Server Pages ASP is a powerful server side scripting language ideal for the creation of dynamic data driven web sites. Our Windows 2000 servers run the latest version of IIS offering full support for ASP scripts. MSXML Scripting XML allows developers to easily describe and deliver rich, structured data from any application in a standard, consistent way. Version 4 of the Microsoft XML Parser is installed on our servers. CGI Scripting In Perl CGI scripts are small programs that run on the server to add interactivity to your site, Our servers run the lastest version of Active Perl allowing you to install and develop your own Perl CGI scripts. Microsoft Access Databases Microsoft Access databases can be uploaded to your web space for use with your ASP applications. Server Side Includes Server Side Includes enable the addition of dynamic elements to HTML web pages. Automatically insert dates, file information and other HTML documents. Searchengine Submission We submit your site to the worlds major search engines. Thus enabling your clients/cosutmers to find you on the Internet. SPAM Filtering Unsolicited commercial email commonly referred to as SPAM is the Internet equivalent of junk mail. Our mail servers consult with a world wide database of known spammers and will refuse email sent from them. This reduces the amount of junk mail in your inbox increasing your productivity. Email Virus Protection Computer viruses distributed through the email system can cause untold harm to users unfortunate enough to receive them. Our mail servers scan your emails for known viruses alerting you to the danger before damage is done. 4000 MB Monthly Data Transfer Each time your site is accessed data is transferred across the Internet, our transfer limits are high, less than 1% of our customers exceed them, and in practical terms this means unlimited traffic. Should you exceed your limit, simply pay a small surcharge of USD 20.00 per 1000MB. Online Knowledge Base A wealth of information, instructions are available at any time from the online support centre. Context sensitive help is available at any time from within the Easy Web Manager. State Of The Art Data Centre Your sites are hosted on powerful servers. Daily Data Backup Each one of our servers runs a RAID disk failure protection system. In addition, all data is backed up to our Storagetek Timberwolf DLT library each night. Multiple High Capacity Connections Internet connectivity to your site is provided by multiple, diversely routed optical fibre connections ensuring fast and dependable performance. The Easy Web Manager (EWM) The EWM interface will save you and your business both time and money. You will no longer have to pay pricy IT consultant fees to have to update information on your site. Our all-inclusive solutions come with the Easy Web Manager per default. Once your website has been set-up, we will provide you with a username and a password, which enables you to login and change the text on all your web pages as frequently as you wish. Extra's Microsoft FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions FrontPage 2002 extensions are installed on our web servers, allowing you to take advantage of the ease of use of Microsoft's web page authoring software. The addition of FrontPage extensions to a domain name costs USD 30 per year. 128 Bit SSL Secure Server You have the possiblity to add e-commerce to your website under SSL at USD 20 per year, per domain. MS SQL Server 2000 Database Server For more demanding applications, a MS SQL server database provides fast, powerful access to stored data. Each MS SQL server database you create costs USD 50 per month.  |
